The Graduation Strategy is a comprehensive and holistic place-based initiative designed to improve graduation rates for inner city children. The school-based programs are based at both high school and elementary levels and include: tutoring, peer support, mentor ship, primary health care and assessments, family support, sports and recreation, counseling and advocacy.
The Graduation Strategy is part of Our Place, a collaboration of parents, community organizations, and professionals working together to make the inner-city a place where children and families thrive. One of Our Place partners on the Graduation Strategy is Pacific Community Resources Society with the Pathways to Education Program. The program offers academic support, mentoring, one to one individual support and financial assistance to support children in completing high school and will be focusing on giving free support for youth in Grade 8 living in the community.
